For most, the journey begins by arriving on by plane at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. There are direct flights to Anchorage from many parts of the world.
Several international air carriers even offer direct flights to Anchorage each week during tourist season.

From Anchorage, you will fly to the City of Kodiak, which is located on Kodiak Island – home to the Kodiak Brown Bear and other amazing wildlife. There is daily air service between Anchorage and Kodiak. Guests are responsible for getting to and from the City of Kodiak.
If you plan to stay the night in Kodiak prior to your departure to the Kodiak Brown Bear Center & Lodge, visit the Discover Kodiak website for information about lodging.
We take care of transportation from the City of Kodiak to the Kodiak Brown Bear Center & Lodge by our float plane service Island Air. You will fly on a Beaver float or a 206 plane to our remote Lodge. Getting here is half of the fun!

Your 45-minute flight to the Kodiak Brown Bear Center & Lodge will expose you to some of the Island’s most breathtaking and awe-inspiring scenery.
During your flight, you may see humpback whales and sea otters in coastal fjords, mountain goats on rugged peaks, Sitka black-tailed deer roaming through meadows, and bald eagles soaring overhead.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our staff at the Center Campus. We’ll give you a quick briefing, get you situated in your private cabin and have lunch set up for you in the lodge.
