Relax at the end of the day.

The maqii (or banya, in Russian) is the age-old Alutiiq tradition of taking a relaxing steam bath in the evening to reflect on the day’s events.  The maqii has a stone floor, cedar benches and is warmed by a wood-fired stove.  Stones line the outside of the wood stove, upon which water is splashed to produce the thick therapeutic steam.

Gourmet meals to fuel you.

All of our entrees, soups, breads, desserts and bakery goods are prepared from scratch on site by our executive chef, Natasha. With advance notice we will make every effort to accommodate special diets. Meals are served family style in our dining room overlooking a spectacular view of Karluk Lake and the surrounding mountains. It is not uncommon to observe four-legged explorers on the lawn outside while you enjoy your meal.

Chef Natasha’s cooking speaks for itself: our guests cannot get enough.  Whether it is morning (eggs Benedict with salmon lox and avocado, crepes, a Denver omelet),  noon (homemade chicken noodle soup, smoked salmon sticks, oven roasted stuffed bell peppers) or night (local-caught sockeye salmon, roasted pork loin, a rib-eye hot off the grill), remember to save room for dessert (creme brule, berry trifle, fresh fruit crisp a la mode).
